south side works exposed and what's next...

This past weekend's event in the south side works was a success! i made it! market did a great job organizing. The weather was beautiful and we met so many nice people.

So what's next...

This weekend we're participating in another i made it! market event at Bakery Square. You can find the info and vendor list here. We've been working on new bags this week and we'll have a new edition of both the "power on" robot baby onesie and the "robots blasting" t shirt.

Check out some pictures of our setup in the south side courtesy of i made it! market after the jump and you can see even more photos from the event on their flickr page.

new events...

We have some events lined up for July that we're pretty excited about. First, we lucked out and were added, last minute, to i made it! market's artist market at South Side Works Exposed. It takes place next weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and will be our first multi-day event. We just found out yesterday, so we'll be working hard all next week to make sure we have new items.

Then the following weekend on Sunday July 24th, from noon - 4pm, we're participating in another i made it! event at Bakery Square. This is a reoccurring market held one Sunday a month from June to September. It's our first time participating but hopefully not our last!

So July is turning out to be a pretty busy month for us! Check back next week for pictures of what we've been working on!

a soup recipe...

Right now our second bedroom, which is supposed to be our studio, is mostly functioning as a supply closet. I had big plans on my day off to seriously get to organizing this room.  So we can maybe, actually start working it in it? But I woke up feeling under the weather, it's either a cold or pretty bad allergies. I'm leaning towards the cold. So I spent most of the day yesterday watching episodes of Anthony Bourdain and knitting. Not a total lost cause I suppose. Then I made this soup because what else is going to kill a cold besides a ton of garlic.

Basically I followed the recipe from Joy the Baker but altered a few ingredients based on personal preference.

Recipe and photos after the break...

lately....

we've been working on our container garden.

  tomatoes.
i plant marigolds with my tomatoes because that's what my mom does and she's a pretty smart lady. i think it's supposed to keep bugs away? either way it looks pretty.
sweet and hot peppers. these are the only seedlings that i started myself that did very well. so we're going to have a lot of peppers.
flowers and some moss. my terrarium keeps fogging up. i need to fix that.

we also have some lettuce, spinach, and herbs. it's a pretty good start. i hope to add to it gradually.

also i'm working on invitations for my sister, elizabeth's baby shower.

and chris has been working on a poster for white wives. which i can't show you because it's a secret.

so we've been keeping busy.

hey guess what....

...i'm really bad at blogging. it's harder than i thought it would be, or maybe i have less to say now that we're not constantly working on things for handmade arcade. i guess i've taken a mini break to get our porch garden started and spring clean the apartment. BUT we have been tossing around some new ideas
and we're slowly adding items to our etsy shop. so some things are happening.

also, i flew kites with some pretty cool members of my family on easter and even though it wasn't a very nice day, it was really fun!
